Community businesses in England can apply for grants, loans and business support to help issue community shares.
The funding is being made available through the Power to Change Community Shares Booster Fund. The fund offers a number of support streams, including pre-grant assistance, development grants of £2,000-£15,000, and equity match investments ranging from £10,000 to £100,000.
Community businesses can access financial planning support, receive match funding for share offers, and benefit from innovative financing options like interest-free instalment loans through Co-operative and Community Finance. Prioritising disadvantaged and under-represented communities, the fund aims to empower local businesses by providing flexible financial solutions that enable community ownership and sustainable development.
The Community Shares Booster Fund is currently open for applications to the Development Grants and Equity Match funding streams.
The next deadline is the 6th March 2025.
