The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is inviting applications to the 'Apart, not Alone 2025-26' grants programme which aims to improve the quality of life for those impacted by service related separation.
The funding is intended to support families experiencing separation, recognising the significant impact it can have on various aspects of family life, including emotional wellbeing, mental health, social connections and overall family dynamics.
This year, there are two strands of funding:
- Support for Serving Families Facing Service-Related Separation offers grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 for projects that will help to mitigate the impact of service-related separation for families of serving personnel and reservists. This is open to registered charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs) who have substantial recent experience of supporting Armed Forces communities as well as to Armed Forces units or bases. There will be two funding rounds.
- The new 'Local Impact grants programme' offers portfolio grants of up to £300,000 for projects that provide targeted support for serving families facing challenges in specific locations in the UK, due to service-related separation. This is open to UK registered charities and local authorities. The Portfolio Lead should work with both statutory and non-statutory partners as well as the local base/(s), reflecting the diverse needs of the service community.
The deadline for applications to the Support for Serving Families is 30 July 2025 (12pm).
The deadline for Expressions of Interest to the Local Impact grants programme is 23 July 2026 (12pm).
