UK Hospices Can Apply Now for Grants to Support People Living in Financial Hardship

Masonic Charitable Foundation, in partnership with Hospice UK, is offering grants of up to £40,000 to help hospices in England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man improve their support for people experiencing financial hardship or living in socio-economic deprivation.

Grants can support new projects or build on existing programmes to better support people facing financial hardship, socio-economic deprivation, or expand access to services. Projects might include:

  • Assessing the hospice's ability to provide high quality, accessible care and support.
  • Identifying barriers to accessing hospice services.
  • Redesigning services and/or introducing evidence-based tools to improve care and support.
  • Building lasting and sustainable partnerships with other services to improve or expand support.
  • Upskilling hospice staff and volunteers to provide more holistic and individualised care.
  • Evidencing the impact of changes made to hospice services to assess improvements in accessibility and inclusion.
  • Responding to and acting upon national policy or research evidence.

Grants can be used to cover staff salaries, equipment, travel, payments to people with lived experience and staff training.

Independent charitable hospices that are members of Hospice UK and based in England, Wales, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man can apply. Both adult and children's hospices, as well as those providing care for all ages, are eligible.

A total of £400,000 is available for this programme and will support 10-14 hospices with projects running over a period of 18 months. This allows for up to three months setup phase and one year project delivery - with a further three months to cover any unforeseen delays.

The deadline for applications is 17 November 2025 (17:00).
