A new £5 million fund has been launched to help communities across England to rescue and repurpose neglected historic buildings such as theatres, department stores and former banks.
The Heritage Revival Fund will support charities and social enterprises in taking ownership, adapting, and reusing these buildings for community use.
Three levels of funding will be available to support projects from the earliest stages through to capital works, including feasibility studies, business plan development, design, surveys, and the costs of acquiring and renovating buildings.
The programme is delivered by the Architectural Heritage Fund in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Historic England. Expressions of interest should be submitted in the first instance.
