Equity Investment Offered to UK Ventures Improving Labour Market Conditions

The WorkerTech Fund provides investment to early-stage ventures using technology to improve conditions and outcomes for low-paid or insecure workers. The programme supports pre-seed and seed-stage organisations that have a clear plan for scaling and delivering measurable social impact.

The fund forms part of a wider effort to explore technological solutions that promote fairer and more sustainable employment practices across the UK. Its objectives include increasing access to better pay, career development opportunities and skills for affected workers, as well as enhancing worker voice and overall wellbeing in the workplace.

The programme has a budget of £9 million, offering equity or quasi-equity investment ranging from approximately £75,000 to £200,000 per venture. Funding can be used to develop or enhance technology solutions, test business models and build operational capacity. It may also support activities that expand a venture's reach and increase access to pay, skills, career opportunities and wellbeing for workers.

Applications are open to UK-based companies, charities, Community Interest Companies and co-operatives. Eligible organisations must demonstrate a social mission alongside a sustainable and scalable business model, with the potential to generate measurable impact for low-paid and insecure workers.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
