This Trauma Informed Safeguarding course is designed to provide individuals who have experienced Trauma or those employed in a supporting role, with an understanding of what trauma is, how to respond to those who are going through trauma, and what strategies and resources can be used to support those affected.

Aims of the Training:
On completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Give a clearer understanding of the term trauma.
• Understand how to prioritise emotional safety for the person and the worker.
• Understand ways of building relationships to encourage and promote wellbeing and resilience in traumatised people.
• Understand empowerment and choice, allowing the person to have control on how they engage with a worker.
• Understand how to acknowledge and understand each person's cultural, historical and racial identity.
• Plan, manage and review services to support continuous improvement and maintain quality standards
